Dominique Soldati-Favre, PhD

Biography: Dominique Soldati-Favre obtained her PhD degree at the University of Zürich in 1990. She was then a postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University, Assistant Professor at the University of Heidelberg and Reader at Imperial College London. In Geneva, she was appointed Associate Professor in 2004 at the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Medicine, then full Professor in 2010. Dominique Soldati-Favre is Vice-Dean of the Faculty since 2011.
Mattie C. Pawlowic, PhD
University of Dundee, Scotland, UK
Biography: Dr Pawlowic earned her PhD studying Leishmania with Prof Kai Zhang at Texas Tech University before joining Prof Boris Striepen as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Georgia. There she was part of the team that adopted CRISPR for Cryptosporidium. She then established her independent research group at the University of Dundee in 2017. Her group is funded by the Wellcome Trust to explore the genetics of parasite transmission. Her group also collaborates with drug discovery scientists, Prof Susan Wyllie on mode-of-action studies, and researchers at Moredun Research Institute to study host-parasite interaction.
